Sie fragt mich, was ich denn davon halte, ein modernes Stück zu lesen, das noch keine von uns kennt. Erna tippt im Hintergrund auf einer unserer alten Kassen aus dem Keller herum, die wir jetzt benutzen, bis die Neue endlich ankommt. Inzwischen haben sich am Himmel ein paar Wolken gesammelt und das Paar am Tisch in der Ecke verlässt das Kaffee, wahrscheinlich um noch vor dem Regen nach Hause zu kommen. Ich denke gerade darüber nach, ob ich in letzter Zeit von irgendwelchen guten Büchern gehört habe, die ich dem Buchclub vorschlagen könnte, als ich von einem Bellen aus den Gedanken gerissen werde. Ich drehe mich zur Tür und schon kommt Heinz mit seinem Hund hereinspaziert. Ich bin erstaunt, Heinz, um diese Zeit hier zu sehen, doch noch erstaunter ist Charlotte. Als ich ihn grüße, schaut sie Heinz mit neugierigen Augen an und stellt sich ihm vor, während ich mich hinter die Theke begebe, um seine Bestellungen aufzunehmen. Mir wird erst jetzt so richtig bewusst, dass sich die zwei, obwohl beide Stammengäste sind, noch gar nicht kennen. Obwohl Charlotte die halbe Nachbarschaft kennt, hat sie mit Heinz noch nie ein Wort gewechselt. Heinz kommt hier immer nur strikt um 8 Uhr morgens oder Donnerstag vormittags zum Kartenspielen vorbei. Manche Begegnungen sind traurig, manche lustig und wieder andere unvollendet, denn manche Menschen sehen wir auch nie wieder. Egal ob spontane Besuche oder Stammgäste, jede Besucherin und jeder Besucher bereichert den Alltag hier in Erners Café. Okay, you were right. We do see some people that we've met before here again. Okay, so like to which last week, by the way, I successfully subscribed, joined, so etwas beitreten is to join something. And so does that take the dative? Ja, ich trete dem vereinbar, ich trete dem Buchklub bei. And that's also the reason why we have dem as our relative pronoun here. At the start in the dative. Okay. Sie fragt mich, was ich denn davon halte, ein modernes Stück zu lesen, das noch keine von uns kennt. So she asks me, was ich denn davon halte. Does Halten just mean to think about something? Yes, it's to think about something, to have an opinion about. And I think we actually covered Halten in a spotlight video. And it depends on the preposition, but if you use it with von, which we see here in da von, it's like think about something. What do you think about something or what I think about the idea. So sie fragt mich, was ich denn davon halte. She asks me what I think about the idea of doing something. Ein modernes Stück zu lesen, of reading a modern piece. Is she talking about a play? Yes, or a play in the form of a book. A book, ja. Das noch keine von uns kennt, that none of us yet knew. Genau. Yes, so we have the einer here is actually one thing, which is the dative. And then we have, unsere alten Kassen is the genitive. Okay. And you always see that ending, unserer, because it's always the plural, because you're saying one of many normally. So you always have this genitive plural ending. Interesting, right. So, she's typing away in the background on one of our old tills from the Keller, from the cellar, the basement. Basement, ja. Herum.
